Help support Crusader Football and Athletic programs and at the same time get your student/athlete’s sports physical completed for the 2017-2018 school year.

The last episode of the 2016-2017 school year is dedicated to and highlights the graduating seniors. It also features a reminder about turning your laptop into the technology department for a mandatory update.
Congratulations to MDCHS 2012 Alum Nico Siragusa on being drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2017 NFL Draft as an offensive lineman.
Fernando Alcocer has been accepted to the energy summer camp at USC School of Engineering for Summer 2017. David Cooper was accepted to this energy camp last year. Fernando is our second student to receive this honor.
The Frontiers of Energy Resources Summer Camp offers a preparatory, interactive training program focusing on various energy resources including fossil fuels, solar, biofuel,wind, nuclear energy, and information technologies for energy efficient operations. This unique program is designed to introduce outstanding high school students going into their senior year and high school math and/or science teachers to the opportunities and career possibilities available in the global energy resources industry. Individuals who are selected on a competitive basis will attend summer camp without charge.
The Spanish Placement exam is required for all new MDCHS students studying Spanish to ensure proper placement in their Spanish classes. If the student has no (or little) knowledge of reading and writing in the Spanish language, the examination is not required, and they will be placed in a Spanish 1 class.
Date: Saturday, April 29th , 2017
Time: 9 am (end=aproximately 10:30am)
Place: Mater Dei Catholic High School
- Register at the table near the entrance of the school.
- Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the exam.
- Bring two # 2 pencils.

MDCHS 2012 alumnus, Nico Siragusa, now a offensive lineman from San Diego State University will be part of the 2017 NFL Draft–set for Thursday, April 27th through Saturday, April 29th. Check out the story on CBS Local Sports:
The 2017 NFL Draft is set for Thursday, April 27th through Saturday, April 29th. As the stars of the college game get ready to find out where they will begin their NFL journey, CBS Local Sports’ “My Life As” series will give them an opportunity to talk about how they got to this point and what they expect from the future in their own words.
We start with Nico Siragusa, offensive lineman from San Diego State University, who only got started playing football a few years ago.
Congratulations to Science Academy student Itzel Gonzalez who won the 3rd round of the State of California Lion’s Club Speech Contest. The topic for this year’s contest” “Is the right to privacy a threat to our national security?” Itzel has earned so far $500.00 in scholarship funds. The winner at the State level of this speech contest, receives $21,500 in college scholarship funds.

Mater Dei is offering a 10 session SAT prep class at Mater Dei. The cost is at a reduced price of $349.00 dollars (regular price is $799.00 dollars) The registration deadline for this is Tuesday, March 14th at 2:30 p.m. Please register at the front desk before the deadline.
Wrestling: Congratulations to our Crusader Wrestlers who fought hard in the state tournament this past weekend in Bakersfield. Mateo Olmos is Mater Dei Catholics first State Placer in wrestling. Mateo finished top 3 in the State in the 160 lbs weight class.
Girls Basketball: Congratulations to our Lady Crusader Basketball Team for Winning the CIF Division I Championship against San Marcos on friday night.
Basketball: Double Header Alert!!! Both Boys and Girls Basketball Teams have advanced to the State Playoffs this Wednesday on 3/8/17.
Division III: Our #7 ranked Lady Crusaders will take on #10 ranked JSerra here at MD at 6:00pm.
Division II: Following our girls game. Our #8 ranked Crusaders will take #9 ranked Harvard-Westlake.
