MDJDA has partnered with OpenMinds, a state-licensed extended enrichment program that offers a fun, creative, safe and secure environment where children participate in instructor-led programming outside of regular school hours. The program is open from 7:00-8:15am and 3:15-6:00pm. Students spend time on homework, outside play, creative projects, games, and art to encourage creativity, curiosity and a better understanding of themselves and our global community. MDJDA also offers numerous after-school activities including Video Production, the School Newspaper, Robotics, Choir, Martial Arts, Yearbook Club, ASB (Associated Student Body), Ballet Folklorico, Orchestra and CYT (Christian Youth Theater). MDJDA participates in the Diocesan sports league, offering Pee-Wee Soccer for students in grades K-5. Fifth-eight graders can also take advantage of competitive athletic teams which include soccer, volleyball, flag football, and basketball.
