COVID-19

Mater Dei Catholic is committed to the health and safety of our community as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. We continue to deploy safety protocols and policies in order to make full-time, in-person learning our priority, and we look to our parents and students to help us follow these protocols to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

We can work together to drastically decrease the number of positive cases on campus by keeping our students home if they are not feeling well, or if they have been exposed to someone who is sick or tests positive for COVID-19. Common COVID-19 symptoms include fever of 100.0 F or above, cough, shortness of breath, chills, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.

We encourage all students who are not yet vaccinated to consider getting the vaccine, to minimize the risk of being quarantined if they are identified as a close contact. A close contact is defined as by Public Health as someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes.

To streamline our efforts at contact tracing, please send us this consent form along with your student’s official COVID-19 vaccination record by emailing the signed, scanned form and a photo of the front and back of the vaccination card to medicalrecords@materdeicatholic.org. Students who do not have a verified vaccination record and consent form will be assumed to be unvaccinated. If you have questions or want more information, please contact your own doctor, the County Health and Human Services Agency (619-692-8499), dial 2-1-1, or reach out to Lisa McDonald, RN at healthandwellness@materdeicatholic.org.
